Panoramic Camera

In about 2003 I was commissioned by a visual effects company in Los Angeles to build a camera mount that would automatically take panoramas for them. They also wanted to have the camera be able to bracket the shots by taking several pictures at each waypoint with differing exposure times. At the time, this wasn’t a feature that could be found on commercial cameras so I had to hack into the camera’s electronics to have my electronics simulate button presses on its buttons. This project was the first project that I used a C compiler to program for my microcontroller. Previously I had done everything in assembly language because an assembler was free for the chip family that I used but C compilers weren’t. This project had a quick turnaround of just a couple of weeks and needed things that I didn’t already have libraries for in assembly language so I bit the bullet and bought a C compiler.
